About Pataskala Church of the Nazarene

Our Vision for Christian Ministry

As stated by the Church of the Nazarene, “The chief purpose of all persons — indeed, all of the creation — is to worship, love, and serve God. God has made himself known in His deeds of creation and redemption. As the Redeemer, God has called into existence a people, the Church, who embody, celebrate, and declare His name and His ways. The life of God with His people and the world constitutes the Story of God. That story is recorded principally in the Old and New Testaments and continues to be told by the resurrected Christ who lives and reigns as Head of His Church. The Church lives to declare the whole Story of God. This it does in many ways—in the lives of its members who are even now being transformed by Christ, through preaching, the sacraments, in oral testimony, and in mission. All members of the Body of Christ are called to exercise a ministry of witness and service. No one is excluded.”

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

Our Staff

Pastor Gary Reiss - Senior Pastor
Hi, Welcome to the Pataskala Church of the Nazarene website. My name is Gary Reiss and this is my wife Tammy.

I've been a pastor over 30 years now and have been here in Pataskala since January 2012. Tammy and I have three grown sons who are all married to three wonderful young ladies. We have three grandsons and five granddaughters.

Our mission here in Pataskala is to help people come to Know Christ, Grow in Christ, and Show Christ in our world. We would be delighted to have you join us in our journey as we seek to follow Jesus and fulfill the mission He has given to us.

If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 740-927-8614. We hope you find what you're looking for as you check out our website. Have a great day!

Lauren Lain - Intergenerational Pastor
Hey there! My name is Lauren Lain and I am the Intergenerational Pastor here at PatNaz.
I graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in April 2022 with my BA in Christian Ministry and a double concentration in Pastoral Ministry and Youth & Family Ministry.
I live to see all generations growing in their faith, serving in their community, and worshipping Christ together! I’m particularly an advocate for young worshippers (Kids and Teens) in our completely intergenerational Sunday morning worship service.
As I continue to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in loving and serving the least of these and advocating for kids and teens, it is my prayer that the Church will daily live that out too! We’re better together.
