Mark 4:41: “They (the disciples) were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!’”

Another Chaotic Scene

•A man possessed by demons
•No one could control him
•He was tormented every day
•UNTIL… JESUS ENTERS THE SCENE

Someone Stronger
•The man broke the chains that were to control him
•Jesus could break chains too… chains on the soul
•Jesus came to set him free

Satan’s work…
•To torture us
•To make us self-destructive
•To separate us and isolate us
•To lie to us about ourselves and our worth

Jesus’ Work…
•1 John 3:8 “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.”
•Jesus freed this man from his tormenter.
•Mark 5:15 “When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.”

Jesus Brings Peace
•John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
•Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
